A Delicious Wedding Rehearsal

Posted on JUNE 7TH, 2011 IN PROJECTS

Every wedding event has a rehearsal and usually a dinner to follow. Laura and Matt wanted to be sure their rehearsal dinner invites reflected the stationery that we created for their wedding day, so hi note pulled the color scheme from their invitation suite and gave it a more playful, relaxed and dinner-inspired look. Whether it's an engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner or wedding reception, having everything tie together is the easiest way to leave a lasting impression on your guests.

Putting hi note 'On the Map'

Posted on MAY 2ND, 2011 IN PROJECTS

When challenged with a travel-themed, vintage-inspired wedding, what better way to capture the essence than an old-school map!? Although Lindsey and Ryan set the date in their current home of Atlanta, they have traveled much of the world and wanted to show it in their save-the-date postcard. We pulled a map of Atlanta and gave it a 'well-traveled' look by adding the couple's chosen color palette and a worn texture. To top of the travel vibe, we created a custom postmark, complete with their names and wedding date.

Vintage Garden Wedding

Posted on FEBRUARY 20TH, 2011 IN PROJECTS

We love working with couples who live life off the beaten path... exactly what Katie and Justin embody. We were so excited when the bride came to us with a love for all things vintage and a location to die for, Aldridge Botanical Gardens in Hoover, AL. In addition to the perfect setting, the bride and groom chose to have a really unique and personal wedding ceremony. Challenging our creative spirit, hi note incorporated thoughtful notes and quotes from music that had special meaning to Katie and Justin. All in all, we absolutely LOVED working on this project and think our love shows in the final product!

Tackling a Beach Wedding

Posted on FEBRUARY 18TH, 2011 IN PROJECTS

Beth and Greg, who let us work on their Edisto Island save-the-date postcards, asked hi note to use the inspiration of a beautiful beach setting for their nuptials and a sheet of paper with this fantastic fish pattern on it. One might think the beach would be easy to design for, but the weather will always surprise you. When designing the place cards and programs, we wanted to make sure that glorious beach wind didn't blow them away. We used worn bronze brads to attach the pieces of the program together and give them some weight. The place cards were secured by fashioning a gold ribbon around each guest's napkin, solving the breeze issue with an unusual and eye-catching table piece.

Betting on Black

Posted on FEBRUARY 5TH, 2011 IN PROJECTS

When Sarah & Daron chose to have their wedding in Las Vegas, they wanted to make sure their big day wasn't overrun with blackjack tables and bright lights. They wanted a subtle take on the ever-popular "Wedding in Vegas" Invitation Suite - keeping it simple and elegant, mostly black with just a dash of red. We did just that, and to top it off, Sarah had her Maid of Honor coordinate with us on her Bridal Shower Invitations to create a cohesive look for all of her events.

A Twist on a Classic Invite

Posted on DECEMBER 2ND, 2010 IN PROJECTS

Chrissi and Bobby came to hi note with a clear vision in mind for their wedding invitations. They loved the classic look of a monogrammed suite, and they also wanted to incorporate a floral motif. Combining the two ideas, we created a classic invite with a modern edge, and we were able to put all the details they desired into the mix without making it overwhelming. We then carried the concept through to their wedding programs and donation card. The couple loved the suite, and were a dream to work with!

Another Breakthrough

Posted on NOVEMBER 17TH, 2010 IN PROJECTS

Here's another great example of how hi note is much more than just wedding invitations. This week we are featuring one of our very first projects, and for a good cause no less!

The Breakthrough Project is a religious organization devoted to fellowship and community in the Atlanta area that was in need of a brochure to get the word out about who exactly they were. We created a tri-fold with a perforated info card to introduce the idea of what The Breakthrough Project is all about, as well as contact info and a schedule of upcoming events. We made over 1,000 of these brochures for potential followers of this new and exciting venture, and the response has been overwhelming!

Not Your Average Save the Date

Posted on OCTOBER 31ST, 2010 IN PROJECTS

Want something unconventional for your wedding save-the-date? Try a magnet, and then take notes from Lauren and Matt. Their challenge to combine their truly unique style and attitude with their vintage sensibility made this a one-of-a-kind project, just like the two of them. The result incorporated a series of photos they had taken for their engagement with an old barn wall, complete with nails and graffiti! Check out some more pics on our projects page.

Postcard Save-the-Date

Posted on OCTOBER 3RD, 2010 IN PROJECTS

First of all, it's safe to say hi note had an incredbile summer. We have been blessed to work with so many great people and would like to thank each of them for trusting us with a part of their special day.

We have been reviewing our past projects and noticed a lot of great trends our clients have been asking for. Namely, postcard save-the-dates. They are a great way to get the word out about your big day without breaking the bank. Some might think that a postcard seems unconventional for a wedding announcement, but they can be as elegant and sophisticated as you want!

Art Nouveau Wedding Program

Posted on September 24TH, 2010 IN PROJECTS

Programs are often overlooked when it comes to planning a wedding. However, they can be a great addition that will put the finishing touch on your special day. The intent for Emma's programs was to give them a unique look while still tying into the design of her invitation suite (see below). This approach allowed each piece to have its own distinctive feel while remaining cohesive.

1940's Inspired Invitation

Posted on September 23RD, 2010 IN PROJECTS

Emma Jane came to hi note with these words: forties, romantic, vintage, and soft without being too fussy or floral. The result couldn't have made her happier and became one of our favorite projects! The square shape and combination of fonts brings a modern edge to this invite. Holding it all together is a custom ribbon and initial tag detail, so when guests received their package bundled beautifully in one piece. Last but not least, we addressed Emma's deep chocolate linen envelopes with unexpected oval labels to add another thoughtful element and unique touch to tie everything together.

Wish You Were Here!

Posted on AUGUST 17TH, 2010 IN PROJECTS

Beth and Greg's Save The Date was inspired by vintage postcards one would send to friends and family from places they would visit. This proved to be the perfect way to set the tone for their destination wedding in Edisto, SC. The playful pair on the beach was modeled after the real couple, which brought a smile to their guests faces when they received their save-the-date postcards.

Personalized Place Cards

Having dinner choices at your event? Custom place cards are the answer! For Jennifer and Dustin's Mexico beach wedding, we alternated black and white place cards, so the servers knew what each guest was eating. It made it easy for the staff to distinguish and also added some flair to the tables.

We created an invite to suit the theme and then designed labels to customize hot sauce bottles for the party tables and mini bottles as favors for their guests.

Mixing the Old with the New

Posted on MAY 8th, 2010 IN PROJECTS

Bride Catherine came to us with an old school photo booth strip and said, "I want to make this my Save-the-Date," we were certainly inspired by the challenge. We wanted to give her something really unique that reflected her style and venue, a repurposed manufacturing facility. Combining the vintage scroll design with modern colors, we gave the couple a photo strip their guests will love and remember.

The couple and their little one were excited to have a cool, custom look for their special day.

Puerto Rican Fiesta

Who doesn't love a destination wedding? When our college friend Rebekah got engaged we were so happy she had found the one, and when we found out her wedding would be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico we were thrilled! Better still, when we discovered she would want us to help design her save-the-dates we were PUMPED! Destination weddings are always fun to design for, and this beach-bound celebration was no exception with it's sandy oat and watery blue color scheme.

Bold Colors for St. Augustine

Posted on AUGUST 28th, 2009 IN PROJECTS

Jimmy and Kim came to us after a bit of a struggle with their 'save the date' magnets. Kim wanted to make sure the cheerful magenta and orange wedding colors were incorporated with a panoramic image Jimmy loved of St. Augustine, where the bride and groom will be wed next year. We created a negative of the image and used their event colors to show it off. The final result was a vintage inspired piece that definitely gives a pop of color to guests' refrigerators.
